It’s Mother’s Day

Mothers

Come

In all shapes

And sizes

And hues

And ages.

They arrive

In all manner

Of moments

And memories.

It is important,

Essential even,

To remember this:

THE most important mothering

Is what we offer

And do

For our self,

For that part/those parts of us

That need

Soothing,

Caring,

Loving.

“We are here to take care of each other;

To do so, we must first take care of ourself.”

Thich Nat Han’s words and spirit

Invite us and

I encourage and urge you

To mother yourself today.

And all days

in some way.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Blessings,

Paula.
